Welcome Delegates!
The Washington Summit: Bridging Local Priorities, National Policy, and Business Collaboration
The Washington Summit empowers municipal leaders by connecting them directly with federal policymakers, national institutions, and influential business networks. By uniting local governments, federal partners, and business leaders, it ensures municipalities leave equipped to drive meaningful change, foster economic vitality, and build communities that thrive on collaboration and forward-thinking leadership.
The Summit fosters critical dialogue between local governments and federal decision-makers. Delegates engage in roundtables, briefings, and networking sessions with members of Congress, agency leaders, and policy experts. These interactions ensure municipal voices are heard on issues like infrastructure, sustainability, and economic development, translating local needs into actionable federal strategies.
A key component of the Summit’s value lies in its ability to bridge public and private sectors. Through strategic partnerships with organizations like the Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the Summit connects municipal leaders with business executives, fostering collaboration on shared goals. The Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber, for example, exemplifies how local chambers can drive economic growth by partnering with municipal governments on initiatives like business retention programs and workforce development. Similarly, the U.S. Chamber amplifies these efforts nationally, offering municipal leaders access to its vast network of business advocates and resources like the Equality of Opportunity Initiative.
By participating, municipal governments gain a multifaceted return on investment:
- Policy Influence: Direct advocacy channels to shape federal legislation impacting local communities.
- Economic Growth: Partnerships with chambers of commerce to attract investment, streamline regulations, and create jobs.
- Strategic Networking: Relationships with federal and business leaders that unlock funding, best practices, and cross-sector innovation.
- Community Impact: Insights from national institutions and peer cities to address challenges like equity, resilience, and infrastructure.
Delegates gain exclusive access to Washington, D.C.’s most iconic landmarks with immersive tours, including the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture, the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum, the White House, and a candlelight tour of the U.S. Capitol. These experiences provide historical and cultural context, grounding municipal priorities in the broader narrative of national progress and policy evolution.
The Summit is more than an event-it’s a catalyst for progress.
